THE MANOR HOUSE

Once you have visited THE ORCHARD COUNTRY HOUSE, you will discover that it is a place of exceptional serenity and graciousness. This Sir Herbert Baker designed house, build in the 1936 is located in the town of Malmesbury, the heart of the Swartland. The ORCHARD COUNTRY HOUSE offers luxury accommodation to revive tired minds and revitalize weary souls. Occupied by the Orchard Family for the past 16 years and now privately managed by Thomas and Jeanette Orchard, The ORCHARD COUNTRY HOUSE strives to provide its guests with a memorable stay at the level of styling and excellence that is trendy and in exceptionally good taste.

With four en-suite bedrooms in the main house and three garden en-suite bedrooms that are available per person sharing or at single rate with twin or double beds, there is bound to be an overnight option that will suite you. The house and rooms are furnished in a trendy, yet comfortable country style with abundant facilities available to guests and visitors alike.

Amenities in all bedrooms include DSTV, bathrobes, a mini-bar, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer and pure cotton bed linen. Swimming towels are also available from reception.

Two lounges, one furnished as a traditional cigar lounge complete with a full size snooker table and courtesy bar and one with a fireplace for someone seeking a calmer atmosphere for reading or relaxing bestow the ground floor. The air-conditioned dining hall overlooks the magnificent garden and pool area. Feel free to pop in, be it for breakfast, a mid-morning tea with scones and cream or a tastefully prepared, lunch or dinner on request. Even a traditional Braai or a Spitbraai can be arranged.

FACILITIES

A conference room for 20 people, complete with all equipment (not with standing a proxy) needed by our corporate visitors is also available. Breakfast, tea and coffee, lunch and dinners can be served on request.

From leisurely lazing around the swimming pool to wine and olive tasting on any of the five nearby wine and olive routes to four-by-four trails, a numerous amount of golf courses within close proximity and also hiking/biking trails for the more energetic and even a Game Reserve and Whale Watching in Yzerfontein. You can rest assured that there is an activity to cater for your needs.

Cape Town International Airport is a mere 45 minutes drive away from the scenic town of Malmesbury and surroundings.

A Shuttle service to Cape Town and other nearby scenic attractions can be arranged by reception. Nearby towns are, Paarl, Piketberg, and the Cederberg mountains, Darling, Yzerfontein, Mykonos and other West Coast Fishing Villages.

Safe parking is available and to have your car washed can be arranged.

Small weddings, birthday parties, Christmas and New Year parties or any other functions can be hosted at THE ORCHARD COUNTRY HOUSE where Jeanette and her staff will see to all your needs.

Brides are also welcome to get dress, be pampered and have their photographs taken in the beautiful manor house & in the garden at THE ORCHARD COUNTRY HOUSE.
